Zandro Carlos P. Sison
First Vice President
FVP Zandro Carlos P. Sison is the Head of the Corporate Affairs Department. Mr. Sison has been in the public service for close to three decades, rising through the ranks while broadening his skills and deepening his experience in the fields of corporate public communication, labor policy and human resource management, strategic planning as well as social welfare administration.
He started his career in government at the Social Security System (SSS) as a contractual employee in 1999. Prior to joining DBP, he served as Chief of Staff of the Commissioner representing the Labor Sector of the Social Security Commission, Vice President for Corporate Planning and Communications at the Philippine Export-Import Credit Agency (now known as Philippine Guarantee Corporation) and as Special Assistant at the Office of the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel.
From 2010 to 2016, Mr. Sison worked as the Special Assistant and Senior Technical Adviser to the Press Secretary at the Presidential Communications Operations Office in Malacañang where he also served as Vice Chairperson of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board Appeals Committee. He also worked as senior technical staff of the National Social Welfare Program Cluster – a high-level sub-Cabinet body created through a Presidential issuance during the incumbency of the Arroyo Administration.
Mr. Sison is a well-regarded member of the public relations and communications community being a long-time member of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines where he has served as Juror of the prestigious Anvil Awards. Likewise, he is an incoming member of the Board of the Philippine Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, a Chicago-based global group of communications professionals.
For more than a decade, Mr. Sison was part of the academe teaching news and feature writing, public relations and advertising management. He finished his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman. He holds both a Diploma and a Masters degree in Industrial Relations from the UP School of Labor and Industrial Relations and earned his Master in Business Administration degree from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) as an SSS-AIM scholar.
He completed an executive course on leadership and managing change at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and attended a specialized program on media production on counter-radicalization at the Radio Netherlands Training Centre as a Fellow and scholar of the Netherlands Government. At DBP, he was part of the pioneer batch of senior officers who underwent the Leadership Development program by John Clements Leadership Institute.
Mr. Sison holds both Career Service Executive and Career Executive Service eligibilities.
