Jose M. De Vera
Vice President

VP Jose M. De Vera, more commonly known in the organization as Jem, is the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of DBP’s Information and Communications Technology Sector, and IT Operations Group.

With more than 26 years of banking experience particularly in Business Development and Payment Solutions, Brand and Business Management of Prepaid Cards (Magstripe and Smart/Chip-based), Branch Banking and Project Management, VP De Vera joined the Bank in August 2020 as Head of its IT Program Management Department and as OIC of ICT Management Group since August 2022.

Prior to his role in DBP, VP De Vera served as Vice President and Head of Business Development and Technology Strategies Division of BPI, and worked with its Information Systems Group in the delivery of relevant systems support and oversaw all payments and unsecured lending systems–related technology projects. He supervised all technology support requirements for the Unsecured Lending and Cards Group. He also spearheaded and managed all innovative payment initiatives especially those utilizing new technologies such as chip-based RFID and NFC solutions. He was an active member of the Ayala – Metro Pacific Consortium working committee in 2013, responsible for winning the government’s P1.7B PPP project on rail electronic ticketing, the Automated Fare Collection System, as one of the original incorporators of the ensuing company for the said PPP project. He also served as member of BPI’s Unsecured Lending and Cards Group Management Committee from 2022 until his retirement in March 2020. He had been tapped to likewise facilitate Harvard-sponsored workshops for BPI executives. He also had a brief stint in the health care industry and close to a decade experience in life insurance industry, with focus on Marketing, Customer Service, and Corporate Planning.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in BS Business Management in Ateneo De Manila University and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
