Senior Vice President
SVP Catherine T. Magana is the Officer-in-Charge of the Bank’s Operations Sector, which is primarily responsible for promoting the integrity of the Bank’s financial information, delivery of accurate and timely accounting services and budgetary control under the Comptrollership Group, and providing efficient loans, treasury and remittance operations through its Bank Operations Group.
Prior to this assignment, SVP Magana was the Officer-in-Charge of the Treasury and Corporate Finance Sector which handled the overall management of the Bank’s asset liability management, fixed income, foreign exchange, equities trading units, and treasury marketing. She also oversaw the Bank’s capital markets and investment banking units. She served as Chief Risk Officer and Head of DBP’s Enterprise Risk Management Group from 2019 to 2022 and was responsible for all aspects of the Bank’s enterprise risk management, information technology risk, and security risk management. She was the key driver in developing and implementing appropriate risk management policies and procedures consistent with the DBP’s strategic development objectives.
She started her banking career at the Land Bank of the Philippines where she rose from the ranks and has led various units including LBP’s treasury & investment banking and treasury risk management units. She moved to the Philippine Insurance Deposit Corporation after 16 years in LBP and served as the Vice President and Head of its Financial Resource Management Group for more than a year. She also became part of the Philippine Veterans Bank as the First Vice President of the Fund Management & Portfolio Division before joining DBP in 2017 as Vice President and Head of the Market Risk Management Department.
SVP Magana graduated with a double degree in Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Santo Tomas and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting from University of the East. She earned her Post Graduate Diploma Course in Business Finance from Edith Cowan University in Perth Western Australia as well as Graduate Diploma in Corporate Finance from the Ateneo Center for Continuing Education. She also has a Leadership Management Development Certification from Ateneo Graduate School of Business.
