Carolyn I. Olfindo
Senior Vice President

SVP Carolyn I. Olfindo is the Acting Head of DBP’s Branch Banking Sector.

Prior to this role, she served as the Chief Sustainability Officer of the Bank and Officer-In-Charge of DBP’s Development and Resiliency Sector (DRS) overseeing the crafting of financing programs that focus on the development and growth of the country’s climate-friendly and sustainability efforts.  Likewise, she held the position as Head of the Lending Program Management Group and was responsible for the crafting of the Bank’s development programs in infrastructure, Logistics and Tourism, Environment & Climate Change, Energy, Water and Sanitation, and for the SME Sector, as well as supervising the Special Assets Group which contributes to the improvement of the Bank’s portfolio thru the implementation of appropriate remedial measures for problem accounts and effective disposal of the Bank’s Real and Other Properties Acquired (ROPAs).  She was also briefly designated as OIC of the Corporate Services Sector in 2021.

For her contributions in the Bank’s lending accomplishments, she performed the role of Officer-In-Charge of the Development Lending Sector (DLS) discharging the functions, operations, responsibilities, and authority over the Bank’s lending system.  She often presided as the chairperson of the Bank’s Credit Committee deliberations.  She also ably     led the Bank’s Corporate Banking Group by steering the top caliber account officers into an all-time high level of performance of bringing in loans from the top 1,000 and large corporations, while managing the department that deals with wholesale and correspondent banking loan accounts of foreign and local financial institutions based in the National Capital Region.

In her 26 years in government service with Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), she made significant contributions in the areas of Account Management and Loan Servicing of both corporate and consumer loans.  She was then tapped to head the OFW Remittance business of LBP, overseeing the negotiations with local and foreign partners and LBP’s remittance subsidiaries in the United States and Italy.  She likewise capably directed the Lending Support Department for five (5) years before being assigned as the Group Head of the Facilities and Procurement Services of LBP.

She continued to pursue a well-rounded career in banking when she joined the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) in June 2017 as the Head of the Human Resource Management Group (HRMG).  Her HR experience includes manpower and training requirements of DBP’s Lending Officers and extends to organization-wide strategic support services that dealt with Decorum, Employee Discipline, Programs on Awards and Service Excellence (PRAISE) and performance management and evaluation, job levelling (JL) and competency analysis.  She led DBP’s HRMG to attain PRIME-HRM Level 2 accreditation from the Civil Service Commission.

SVP Olfindo holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the College of Holy Spirit Manila, a Diploma in Business Administration and Development from Concordia International College in Vancouver, British Columbia.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) where she was conferred the College Distinguished Alumni during the 2017 UPLB Alumni Homecoming.  She also completed the Leadership Development Program (LDP) in Ateneo Graduate School of Studies and Leadership Development (LEAD) by John Clements Leadership Institute (JCLI).
