DBP holds business roadshow

June 21, 2017October 18, 2019 · News

The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), in celebration of its 70 years as the country’s premier development financial institution, will be holding a Business Roadshow in Clark Freeport, Mabalacat, Pampanga on June 23, 2017. The Roadshow is being organized as a key activity to reach out to the Bank’s strategic and development partners.

The Roadshow will include the following activities:

        • Launching of the Infrastructure Contractor Support (ICONS) Program – Tasked to be ‘the’ infrastructure bank of the Philippines, DBP has developed a credit facility for construction contractors as a complementary mode to fund various types of infrastructure.
        • Presentation of the Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) for Merchant Clients – A product which allows Merchant Clients to accept card payments and donations over the internet through the use of DBP’s Online Payment Gateway that can process transactions at the comfort of the user’s location whether in the country or overseas.
        • Presentation of the Point-of-Sale (POS) Terminal for Merchant Clients – A complete payment system that facilitates authentication of payments using various cards issued by any member bank of local and international networks, such as BancNet, ExpressNet, MegaLink, and Visa.

DBP’s mandate includes introducing responsive financial products and services and development programs that are sustainable, reliable, and can benefit more Filipinos countrywide.  By establishing a presence, DBP promotes and supports the development of communities  —  financing schools, hospitals, farm-to-market roads, and other development infrastructure.

DBP’s also brings its development finance expertise closer to the unbanked in the countryside, thereby ensuring that the benefits of growth are cascaded to more people.

In support of the National Government’s strategy towards a more inclusive financial system, in the first semester of 2017 alone, DBP has already opened nine new branches and has expanded its network to 120 branches.  The new DBP branches are located in Bangui, Ilocos Norte; Siquijor, Siquijor Province; Lal-lo, Cagayan; Tubigon and Ubay in Bohol; Zamboecozone; Sta. Cruz in Davao Del Sur; Guagua in Pampanga; and Talisay, Cebu.  DBP also opened extension offices in Naguilian, La Union and Cabugao, Ilocos Sur.

With this pioneering effort to reach out to more underbanked communities, DBP continues to promote wide-ranging and all-encompassing growth countrywide.
