The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has chosen the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) as this year’s recipient of the Pagtugon Award for Universal and Commercial Banks for excellence in responding to and addressing customer concerns in awarding ceremonies held on July 13, 2016 at the BSP Complex, Manila.
The award is given to the bank which has the least number of customer complaints with the BSP, and promptly responds to referrals of consumer issues by the BSP’s Financial Consumer Affairs Group. The award was created in line with the BSP’s advocacy of consumer protection.
The Pagtugon Award aims to create a greater sense of awareness and responsibility for banks in ensuring responsiveness and greater efficiency in serving and protecting the interests of their clients and the general public as well as for adhering to the best practices in customer service.
The award is testament to DBP’s commitment to a strengthened focus on its customers, a keener understanding of their business and a more responsive approach to serve their needs – this is customer-centricity that lies at the heart of DBP’s “back to basics” strategy.
