·

The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has granted a P187.4-million term loan to the Municipality of Bauan, Batangas to finance the construction of a new, three-storey municipal building with fire station, and the acquisition of an additional fire truck.

The project is expected to contribute to the improvement in the delivery and accessibility of basic services provided by the LGU to its constituents, as well as help entice more businesses to invest in the municipality.

The new municipal building shall have a total floor area of 5,368 sq.m., with offices strategically laid-out to provide ease in the flow of regular transactions by the general public.  About 100 parking slots will also be available for the convenience of the transacting public.

The new fire station will have a total floor area of 220 sq.m. and will house an office for the municipality’s fire officials as well as a parking bay for fire trucks.  The acquisition of an additional fire truck shall enhance the LGU’s capability to respond to emergencies.

Employment generation is expected during the construction phase of the project.
