State-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has extended an additional P100-million loan to the Laoag City General Hospital (LCGH) as part of efforts to improve the delivery of health care services in the province of Ilocos Norte.
The loan will be used to partially finance the acquisition of medical equipment and facilities for the five-storey hospital. Through DBP’s assistance, LCGH will be able to provide affordable, quality and extensive health services to residents of Laoag City and nearby towns.
DBP had earlier granted a loan for the construction of the LCGH in 2009. The hospital was put up by the Laoag City Government to provide modern medical facilities, increase availability of specialty doctors in Laoag City, and improve bed to population ratio in Ilocos Norte. Equipped with 79 rooms, the hospital offers medical services such as laboratory and outpatient services; internal, dental, rehab, and surgical medicine; and a wellness center.
